Sea Grass
2011
Cast resin, bronze, beach pebble,aquamarine
2"x 3"
This series of small tailsmens is based on a line from the poetry of Kalil Gibran.
...Forget not that the wind longs to play with your hair and the earth longs to feel your bare feet...
I love line created where beach grass meets the sky....right before you come over the dunes and see the Ocean. I wanted to capture this in an "art to wear" piece.
This work is part of a tailsman series and was created by making a mold of a beach stone. I fabricated grass from various materials and cast them in resin. I made a small piece of kiln fired bronze which holds a beach pebble and cut aquamarine.I hope this reminds you of sea and grass and sky.....
